The Popular Side of Politics

The Popular Side of Politics is a blog, updated roughly every month, designed to portray aspects of my research tailored towards a general audience. I believe that conflicts around inequality are fundamental to understanding both historical and contemporary politics, as well as more broadly speaking, the world around us. I use this space to think through various episodes of political events and processes, particularly from “popular,” “populist,” and “redistributive” perspectives, to tease out what we can learn from them. I also often utilize my interest in Latin American history – which may be obscure or relatively little known to many – to better inform our understanding of the political currents of today.
